The M-16A1 5.56mm assault rifle is one of the most identifiable hand held weapons of Vietnam, used by US troops, it has become a reliable assault rifle and is still used by US forces today. The CAR15 5.56mm Assault rifle produced by the Colt Company, was used mainly by Special Forces during the Vietnam War, it had a telescopic sight and was limited in its distribution.

Civil War Wilderness

Fought between May 5 and 7 1864 the civil war Wilderness campaign was a battle between Lt. Gen. Ulysses. S. Grant ‘s Overland Campaign forces comprising some 101,000 men  against Gen. Robert. E. Lee’s Confederate Army of Northern Virginia. Grant and Lee’s armies suffered heavy losses in both men and equipment, a bloody war of attrition attempting to push forward Grant to the capital of the confederate Richmond Virginia.

The Rats of Tobruk

One of the lesser know battles of World War 2, fought by a small yet stubborn force of mostly Australians in the port city of Tobruk, in Libya. Australian troops of the 9th Division, the 18th Brigade of the 7th  Australian  Division, the 18th Indian Cavalry Regiment, the British 3rd Armoured Brigade  and 4 artillery regiments.The force was some 14,000 strong with Australian troops making up half of the contingent. In august the Polish independent Carpathian Brigade and the Czechoslovak 11th Infantry Battalion. Commandered by Lieutenant General Leslie Morshead.
